General

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, libellous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Privacy

The forum system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one).

On rare occasions the board may do a mass e-mail to members. These will generally be important issues with regards to the board running.

Passwords are not available to either the staff or moderators, please do not ask them to retrieve a password, they can't. See "I forgot my password" faq.

Board Content

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable. Even though the information in the forum and website is meant for professionals, others will be browsing. Based on this, it is strongly advised that any matter be further researched and a professional consulted, such as your GP, family physician, or audiology specialist. This advice is equally valid for any professionals or others working / studying in audiology. Nothing read should ever be taken as gospel and should be subject to further research and scrutiny as necessary.

Cross-Posting

We do not allow 'cross posting' where a user posts the same text in more than one forum. This wastes resources, as forum users have to read posts twice. It is possible for a post to be relevant to more than one forum, but you should only post it in another if you have no success in the first.

Proprietary and Illegal Content

You may not post proprietary content or links to sites, which distribute or promote the distribution of illegal material or otherwise encourage breaking the law.

Multiple Identities

This is a no-no. If you have something to say then say so under your original id. Multiple id's will find themselves banned.

Posting Personal Details

You may not post home addresses, personal phone numbers, mobile phone numbers, e-mail addresses or other personal information about a company's officers or employees even if this information is in the public domain elsewhere (e.g. the whois database). This also applies to individuals, including patient details.

Complaints

Should you have cause to raise a complaint about something to do with the board then please contact the forum admin via the forum private messaging system, detailing the issue and providing links to any posts relevant to your complaint. We will endeavour to answer your complaint in the shortest time possible.

Please DO NOT contact Staff or Moderators for individual help at the first instant; try the relevant discussion group first. We are all non-paid administrators giving up our free time to provide this service.
