Can anyone give me any advice about working as an audiologist in Australia? Qualifications needed etc?
cheers![]()
Hi James,
To work in Australia as an audiologist you need to have a Masters in Audiology or equivalent and be eligible for ASA (Australian Society of Australia) membership.
Visit the link below, this should help!

I know this thread has been dead for a while, but I thought I'd point out for anyone looking that the Australian Society of Audiology (ASA) will now accept UK BSc graduates (with no further masters qualification) for practise in Australia.
You do still have to sit an entrance exam like all overseas qualified audiologists.
HI
I know this is an older thread but thought the info may still be useful. I am working as an audiologist & speech pathologist in Australia. Registration with the audiological society of Australia (ASA) is not needed to practice in Audiology although it is desired by a lot of employers. I am a UK BSC (hons) trained audiologist and am due to sit the ASA 'oversea's qualified' exam for registration this April. The application process has recently had an overhaul and is a exhaustive application to ensure you have the academic knowledge (however with your course handbook and clinical logbook you shouldn't have any problem proving your knowledge). The exam is now 6 clinical senario's in all area's and you need to pass every scenario.
Hope this helps
