Question Growing child and cochlear implant

    Hi, I’m a 3rd year (BSc) student.

I was describing a CI to a friend who is an engineering student. After I had done this, he asked (not in the exact words, but he meant), "Could the CI still serve the expected purpose while an implanted child grows and the CI doesn't?"

Can someone clarify whether the growing auditory system of an implanted baby causes trouble with the CI or otherwise?

    Thank you.
