Venous Lakes in BAHA Surgery
Hi Guys
I realize this subject matter is directed more at medicine than audiology but it relates to BAHA surgery. We were attempting BAHA surgery on a 27 year old man for SSD but when drilling into the scull we encountered severe bleeding. After three attempts at this had to abandon the procedure.
A CT scan revealed a 'Venous lake' which are dilatation of diploic veins within the scull.
My question is has anyone come across this before? Ive researched the venous lakes as much as possible but imp struggling to find the incidence of these in the scull (they are common in other parts of the body).
any help, research, advice gratefully appreciated.
