    Hearing and Drugs

Hi, I am usually challenged as a developing professional everytime I take case history with the client. The problem is failure to link the drug and the impact it has on hearing sensitivity. Where can I find a textbook/web that deals with this?.. :

Not sure if you've seen it but there's a topic just a few posts down called "drugs otoxicity" which might be of use?

Apologies if you've checked that and it wasn't what you were looking for.

    Book Ototoxicity books

    Hi there Cecil,

I know it has been a while since your post - but as it may be of possible benefit to others - I found the book "Pharmacology and Ototoxicity for Audiologists" on amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pharm-Ototox...6250369&sr=8-1

Should hopefully fill the gap on the bookshelf There are a few others to choose from as well.

Hi Cencil, am a student researcher and my opinion is that, instead of going into a book to learn more about ototoxicity its better you review various articles on ototoxicity.

The benefit of doing this is you will get updated with the current researches in ototoxicity and also in detail the definition, the different drugs causing hearing loss and what is the pathophysiology etc.

In books you wont get much information about ototoxicity or else you have to refer books which are specific for ototoxicity which is little difficult to pinpoint now.

But I prefer to go through articles for your knowledge

Hope it will help you out.
