What's your favourite part of audiology?
Over the past few days, for no particular reason, I've been thinking about what part(s) of audiology do I enjoy the most. In general, I tend to like everything - with a special interest in anything electrophysiological and vestibular. However, when thinking about it, I decided I really do like the areas of prevention of hearing loss and damage due to noise. I suppose it is because it is one area where we can have such a positive effect by simply providing a bit of education and guidance with regards to noise exposure.
So, what's your favourite part of audiology, and why? Are there some things you really like and other things you really hate?

Favorite part of audiology
Nothing beats seeing the effect of people re-connecting with their loved ones and their own personalities with the use of proper amplification. Loneliness abates. Depression lifts. I will never forget the man who was wheeled into my office in a wheelchair, neither expecting to benefit from amplification, or to enjoy a moment of life again. The next time I saw him, he came into my office on his own, walking behind the wheelchair (using it to steady his gait). He was engaged in life again. Using science, and your self to make someone's life truly better -and make a decent living at it is a good way to live.
