Tinnitus rehabilitation using common Mp3 players
Hello
My criteria to test the Tinnitus is to test the pitch and the intensity of the tinnitus by pure tone masking and let the patient to decide them.
We hear that companies apply tinnitus maskers but that maybe cost alot of money.
Here I tried a similar way to make a tinnitus masker using common and cheap Mp3 player, simply you need two things sound level meter which it's a program giving you the dBFS, and noise generator some of noise generators are not good enough to generate accurate noise that you want, so I use Adobe Audition 3.0 to generate the Noise and to calibrate it and give it directly to the patient (there is a question: what kind of file format you will save the noise? You will save it Mp3, with rate 44100, stereo channels, 32 bit resolution, with loop)
I tired this mp3 to 20 patients who candidate for noise masker and 80% of the mentioned patients get resolved.
